Our goal was to meet 2 main criteria: 1) Increased flow rate. 2) Uniform airflow. The first goal was achieved by taking advantage of the limited space in the RS6's engine bay, which was severely restricted by the underside of the hood. Our solution was a complete redesign of the entire airbox, maximizing volume, increasing the airflow inlet ports and creating a more favorable filtering angle to the turbos. We also increased the size of the turbo inlets dramatically by up to 85% when measuring the cross-sectional area at the ports. The second goal was achieved by designing an organically shaped system with a specially rounded plate filter to ensure that the airflow path contains no sharp corners and thus the flow remains laminar. By providing smooth transitions from the filter to the turbo inlets, our intake system minimizes the formation of turbulence, allowing the turbos to work more efficiently. Working with BMC, we developed a bespoke filter element to ensure the filter area is as large as possible while keeping the airflow clean.With all goals achieved, our C8 RS6 intake system delivers on all fronts and allows the turbos to generate boost more efficiently. This results in improved throttle response and significant power gains that have been independently tested and increase with higher tune levels. The power gains measured are a result of the complete system we have developed from the airbox base, through the lid, and on to the intakes.Dyno TestingOur intake system has been independently tested both on the dyno and on the road. At higher levels of tuning the turbos require more air and so the stock airbox becomes a greater restriction. Here are some results from reputable tuners who have tested the intake.STAGE 1 TESTSDyno testing was carried out by Awesome GTI in the UK on their own C8 RS6 fitted with an OPF exhaust and their own Stage 1 remap. The car was run 4 times in 4th gear with the stock airbox and then switched to the Eventuri while the car remained on the dyno. The car was then run 4 times in 4th gear again. The tests were all carried out on the same day and no other changes were made. The graph below shows the highest horsepower with the stock airbox compared to the highest horsepower with the Eventuri intake. In both cases, these are the first dyno runs, with horsepower decreasing on subsequent dyno runs due to heat buildup. As can be seen below, the intake provides a significant power gain across the entire rpm range. The highlighted point shows the highest power gain in the 60 hp rpm range at the crankshaft. The resulting power gains are noticeable on the street, with better throttle response and improved acceleration times.STAGE 2 TESTSDyno testing on a Stage 2 RS6 was conducted by Eurocharged Canada on a car with aftermarket downpipes, intercoolers, and their own Stage 2 remap. The numbers shown here are measured at the wheel. The car was run multiple times with the stock airbox and the Eventuri. The resulting numbers are shown below after comparing the best stock and the best Eventuri results. Again we see a dramatic increase in power and since this is Stage 2 the stock airbox is an even greater limitation. The highlighted point shows the highest gain in the 79bhp rpm range at the wheels.
