Eventuri intake system for PORSCHE 991 TURBO

Acceleration time: 60-130mph Reduced by 0.2 seconds

Fitment: Porsche 991.1 991.2 Turbo, Turbo S

The 991 Turbo Eventuri intake system was developed through extensive field testing with the aim of making the turbos work more efficiently. By replacing the single stock airbox with individual, patented Eventuri filter housings, the turbos are able to spool and generate boost with less resistance. This shortens the wastegate duty cycles, resulting in peak rise at lower rpm and therefore increased power. The two individual filters offer a larger filter area than the one-piece panel filter. To keep intake air temperatures low, the Eventuri housings are also sealed against an air duct that draws ambient air from the same location as the OEM system. Since the 911 Turbo engine bay is tightly packed, high intake temperatures can only be avoided by a fully sealed intake system. The combination of smoother airflow to each turbo with low intake temperatures results in higher power and more direct response via the stock airbox.

The Eventuri Difference

The 911 Turbo Eventuri system uses our patented carbon fiber housings with our bespoke Gen 2 filters that allow for aerodynamically efficient airflow from the filter to the turbos. Not just another cone filter with a heat shield, but a unique design that induces the Venturi effect and maintains laminar flow conditions to reduce drag on the turbos.

The intake was road tested using a Vbox unit to record acceleration from 60-130mph. Testing was carried out on the same track - again on the same day to keep variables to a minimum. Results show that acceleration times from 60-130mph have been reduced by 0.2 seconds, a significant improvement at such speeds.

Summary of acceleration results:

  • 60-130mph with stick mount = 8.04 seconds
  • 60-130mph with Eventuri mount = 7.83 seconds

The gains are due to a combination of reasons:

  • 1) Individual Eventuri housings separate the flow path for each turbo so they can operate more efficiently.
  • 2) The Eventuri housings ensure a smooth transition from the filter to the intake pipes and keep the air flow laminar.
  • 3) The intake air temperatures are reduced to a minimum by a closed system to prevent the heated engine compartment air from being drawn in.

The Eventuri 991 Turbo intake system consists of a number of components designed for a specific purpose and manufactured to the highest standards. Here are the details of each component and the design behind it:

Each intake system consists of:

  • 2 x Carbon Eventuri housings with integrated tubes
  • 2 x Custom made High Flow Generation 2 filters
  • 2 x aluminum intake manifold
  • Carbon fiber intake duct
  • Laser-cut stainless steel brackets

The filter housings are made from our bespoke Generation 2 filters, aluminium intake manifolds, the carbon bodies and integrated pipes. The carbon bodies enclose the rear mounted filters and gently shape the airflow up to the stock turbo inlet pipes. By separating the intake path and using a specific filter for each turbocharger, the intake allows the turbos to function more efficiently. Crucially, the Eventuri housings extend organically with a gentle curve from the filter opening to the stock turbo hose. This ensures that the airflow remains as smooth as possible throughout the system. A smooth airflow results in less drag and thus the turbos can reach peak boost earlier.
